Kyowa Hakko USA Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation at Supply Side West

The US division of the international health ingredient manufacturer celebrated their 50th company anniversary with a dynamic, interactive exhibition in Las Vegas.

Kyowa Hakko USA, a subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko Bio Co. Ltd. and a world leader in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of international pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and food products, took to the exhibition floor at this year’s Supply Side West trade show in Las Vegas Oct 17 & 18, joining over 1,300 other dietary supplement, food, beverage, personal care, sports nutrition and processing innovation suppliers in the space.

Kyowa Hakko’s exhibit was buzzing with excitement this year as New York Times best-selling author Max Lugavere was at the booth on Thursday to continue his educational series with Kyowa Hakko’s branded brain health ingredient, Cognizin® Citicoline. Lugavere hosted a Genius Foods book signing while providing additional education to interested show-goers on the brain health benefits of citicoline and Kyowa’s efforts in providing a researched-backed supplement ingredient that can help increase levels of citicoline in the body, while supporting focus and attention*.

On the same day, Kyowa Hakko also held an intense, interactive ‘Tap to Win’ Tap Test competition at their booth, drawing a crowd of intrigued industry professionals to test how many ‘taps’ they could achieve in 20 seconds. The Cognizin® branded “Tap to Win” gaming app was inspired by a recent study that used the Finger Tap Test to reveal that supplementing with Cognizin® Citicoline over a 30-day period supported improved attentional abilities, psychomotor speed and inhibition levels in healthy adolescent males (McGlade, et al., 2015). The competition was fierce as the top three winners, which ranked from 201 taps, 199 taps, and 187 taps, excitedly took home prizes such as an Apple Watch, Air Pods and a $100 Apple gift certificate.

A champagne toast and celebratory cupcakes wrapped up an exciting day.

On Friday, Elyse Lovett, MS, MBA, Senior Marketing Manager at Kyowa Hakko U.S.A. Inc, gave an informative presentation on ‘Innovation Fueling the Nootropics Market: Cognizin® Citicoline Leading the Way’ which included cognitive health trends and emerging consumer categories.

Lovett commented, “We were so excited to celebrate and recognize Kyowa Hakko USA’s innovative accomplishments over the past 50 years. As we embark on the next 50, we look forward to continuing our advancements in improving health with our clinically-studied ingredients for pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and food products worldwide.”

As industry leaders in innovative, branded health ingredients, Kyowa Hakko showcased their other novel branded ingredients Setria® Glutathione and Sustamine® L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine at the booth. Setria® Glutathione, a branded form of glutathione, is clinically studied to neutralize free radicals and support detoxification, immunity, and skin brightening*. Sustamine® L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine is a branded, unique combination of L-Glutamine and L-Alanyl, and is clinically tested to support exercise performance, improve hydration over water alone, and support the integrity of the GI tract*.
